Tanndra is a Certified Grief Educator, wife, and mother of three. She is also a Licensed Master Social Worker. She has been drawn to helping others cope with grief and loss since the age of fifteen after her mother died of brain cancer. After struggling to find a safe space to share her pain, she began searching the internet for guidance on how to navigate her grief journey. This sparked her desire to help others learn how to cope with loss and grief. In 2014, recognizing that she needed to process her own grief before she could ethically and effectively help others, Tanndra actively participated in a Grief Recovery Method Support Group. This group helped her to feel free from being “stuck” in her grief and empowered her to move forward with purpose.

Tanndra is a graduate of the University of North Alabama where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is also a graduate of Alabama A&M University, where she earned her MSW. Her professional background is in domestic violence prevention, child welfare, and hospice social work and bereavement care.

In 2015, while working as a new Bereavement Coordinator, Tanndra was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare illness, Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis. After her recovery, and being reminded of how quickly life can change, Tanndra was determined to fulfill her dream of establishing Renewed Minds Grief Education and Grief Support Services, LLC. In 2018, She completed the Grief Recovery Method training and is now a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, certified by the Grief Recovery Institute. In 2020, during the pandemic, she began pursuing a Master’s degree in thanatology, the study of death, dying, and bereavement. After the three-year program, she graduated with an M.S. in Thanatology in 2023. She is currently a Hospice Social Worker and Bereavement Coordinator and does grief education presentations in the community through Renewed Minds.

Tanndra is also a member of the Association for Death Education & Counseling and Hospice Foundation of America. She also facilitates the GriefShare group at her church. A native of Madison, AL, Tanndra is married to her college sweetheart, and they have three sons.
