About Us

Mission

Our mission is to provide informative and effective grief education and grief support to grieving individuals, families, communities, and organizations.

Purpose

The purpose of Renewed Minds, LLC is to normalize and increase awareness about the grieving process, encourage help-seeking behavior, facilitate resiliency, and to study and help alleviate problems affecting grieving individuals, families, and communities to improve their quality of life, before, during, and after loss.

Tanndra is a Certified Grief Educator, wife, and mother of three. She is also a Licensed Master Social Worker. She has been drawn to helping others cope with grief and loss since the age of fifteen after her mother died of brain cancer. After struggling to find a safe space to share her pain, she began searching the internet for guidance on how to navigate her grief journey. This sparked her desire to help others learn how to cope with loss and grief. In 2014, recognizing that she needed to process her own grief before she could ethically and effectively help others, Tanndra actively participated in a grief support group. This left her feeling free from from being “stuck” in her grief. She is now a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, certified by the Grief Recovery Institute in 2018.

Tanndra is a graduate of the University of North Alabama where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is also a graduate of Alabama A&M University, where she earned her MSW. Her professional background is in domestic violence prevention, child welfare, and hospice bereavement care. Her work as a Bereavement Coordinator ended when she became ill and was diagnosed with Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis. After her recovery, and being reminded of how quickly life can change, Tanndra was determined to fulfill her dream of establishing Renewed Minds Grief Education and Grief Support Services, LLC.

She is a member of the Association for Death Education & Counseling and Hospice Foundation of America.  She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Thanatology (the study of dying, death, and bereavement). She also facilitates the GriefShare group at her church. A native of Madison, AL, Tanndra is married to her college sweetheart, Wesley, and they have three sons.
